Antenatal Education

WHFS in partnership with Jagonari Women’s Resource Centre delivered targeted community outreach educational sessions to women of childbearing age and their partners mainly from the Bengali and Somali communities and other groups which are seen as hard to reach. These are the groups which do not access maternity services early so the intention was to advocate, educate and disseminate information in order to increase access to early antenatal care amongst these groups. This involved providing health education sessions and improving awareness and understanding of the benefits of accessing antenatal care services in early pregnancy and assessing the best ways to disseminate information about early antenatal care services in the future.
